For the more intrepid visitor, Chambery offers a wide range of sporting activities, such as trekking, canoeing, or even paragliding.
Cradle and capital of Savoy, Chambery conceals an important patrimony. The Italian Chambery from the 1200’s up to the reunification with France in 1860 is a true history lesson.
• The castle of the Duchy of Savoy and the gothic chapel which is home to one of the biggest Carillons in Europe, with its 70 bells.
• The house of Jean-Jacques Rousseau, and the magnificent park where evocative summer open-air concerts take place.
• The Savoyard museum, which recalls the extremely particular stages in history of this region
Take advantage of the several ski resorts, or enjoy a walk in the Maurienne valley, visit the Regional and National Parks of which Chambery is surrounded by or even take advantage of a cycle around the lakes of Bourget or Aiguebelette.
